Inspiration is everywhere....it's not hard to find it....

After a really bizarre last week, I'm just now getting back into the groove of things, it was hard coming back today.  My mind and body just was not in sync today, I tried telling myself to just move....move...move....but my body didn't want to.  I could tell even my balancing was a bit off.  So I just stuck to the very basics.

Super simple stretching exercises for me.  You can never go wrong with simplicity:

So I finished up fairly quickly and downed myself with some extra Vitamin C.  Hope my energy re-invents itself either later today or tomorrow.

Anyways, so the title of my post - I daily get onto Instagram and do my usual hashtag search of '#yoga' - and wow....I am so super inspired by the millions of yogis everywhere that practice each and every day.......the superb level, the skill, and powerful mindset that some of these people have are truly amazing.  It's invigorating and I hope to be at that level some day.  I know in the back of my head, there is an ounce of me that says I can probably not do some of the major, advanced moves ~ but it's also a powerful thing to say that the word CAN'T is not in my dictionary!

There are limitations that I set for myself, ofcourse, and there is always a safety concern, but I will do what I can, and as long as I am motivated, with the strength that I have.  It's really all very exciting ~ any way you look at it!  I truly believe that inspiration is uniquely the fuel for a happy soul.....

It's all about that back....oh...that back...

Ha!  There's not a day that goes by that I don't find some way of mocking the Meghan Trainor song, "All about that bass".  ;) Anyways, today I worked on anything that had to do with my back. I know I already did this pose on Monday, but I'm really trying to fine tune it as much as possible. I think.... and feel that my back is moving a bit more for me with each practice:

It's been super long since I've done the bridge pose below, wow!!! I truly forgot how hard it is:

I'm remembering to do the poses that require the highest amount of concentration and strength at the beginning of my sessions so that I am the strongest.  From the bridge pose, I did the leg extension here:

I also forgot how difficult this move is.  My mind is thinking..."OMG".  But I was able to hold it for the minimal amount of seconds that I could.

More stretching of my back here:

That's it for today.  It's time for a big lunch.

Work it Wednesdays....

lol....for a lack of a better title.  I did a lot today, and am exhausted.... only took a few shots with the camera.  Started out with a lot of easy stretching poses, I like this one, it works the shoulders and upper chest muscles:

Did a lot of balancing poses on my left leg instead of my right since my left leg is the weakest:

And I've much improved my Four Limbed Staff Pose.  I can now use just my hands only for support instead of before, I had to use my entire forearm/elbow:

I'm thrilled with tiny, little victories.  They make me happy!  Big mistake though in doing the Four Limbed pose was doing it at the very end of my session when I was most tired.  Oops...I should have done it at the beginning after my stretching exercises when I was still stronger.  Mental note not to do that again.

Motivation Mondays

I am super pleased with my progress on the Bow Pose.  Before, I struggled and could not for the life of me touch the very tip of my fingers to the very tip of my toes. It was so frustrating.  Now I can touch my hands to my legs.  It's not perfect in any way but I am glad for practicing:

I will continue to practice til I have more flexibility with my back bend.

And I still practice my Camel Pose.  I don't think I'll ever get it right but it's an invigorating one:

This next pose is the Revolved Side Angle Pose:

And the Opposite Arm Opposite Leg Pose is actually harder than it looks....to balance everything and keep your body parts - legs and arms straight:

Not easy.  Could definitely improve this one.

And some stretching below, my goal is to stretch all the way down and flatten my back:

Love spending pretty much my entire morning with yoga. Everything else can wait, right? Right. :))

A little new, a little old

I did some new poses today and one old pose.  It's Monday!!! My fav day of the week!  I am so strange that way. Most people hate Monday's but I ADORE it! It's my most productive day and I don't know why but I try to cram everything in and done today so that the rest of my week is somewhat....of a breeze.

I like the fish pose, albeit, I'm a fish lover, wonder if that has anything to do with it. :) I have to be careful to bring my back and neck very slowly back to its original position.

Kicking it up a notch with this pose, literally.  Holding for as long as I can is a great challenge:

The Upward Salute pose and into a slight back bend:

Still working on my back bends but that is going very slowly.  I'm not even sure I can do a complete back bend but time will tell.  And my last pose, the Shoulder Stand Pose, didn't do anything complicated this time around - just kept both legs straight up:

Starving.  Time to eat.
