Day 31

It's the last day of the month, crazy fast this year is going but I say that every year...... the last day of the March Challenge is - Pick whichever pose you would like. I chose one of my favorites - I think this was one of the first advanced poses I was able to complete and it took me forever it seemed to figure out the concept - Fallen Angel Pose or Devaduuta Panna Asana:

Once I grasped it in my mind, it was a little easier.  Love the journey and love continually being a student and learning....

Day 29

Firefly or Tittibhasana is always a work in progress in improving my lift and straightening my leg, I have progressed and in different ways.  I'm not sure if I like my legs pointing all the way upwards or straight out, there are so many different variations to play with.

I've noticed this particular pose is a killer on my elbows. Lots of scars that takes months to heal, it's probably why I don't practice it as much as other arm balances that does less damage to my body.

Day 28

Goodmorning Monday!!!!  Today is Toe Stand or Padangusthasana - I chose a Toe Stand with an added Eagle Arm Twist for an extra level of difficulty.

So I literally can't see my posture or alignment, I just have to mentally 'feel' how I'm positioned.

It's Day 4 of Spring Break - so much fun and so much to do at the same time! Love it!

Day 25

Today is supposed to be funky headstand or tripod headstand but nothing funky or fancy about mine.  This was really hard.  It took all of my mental concentration to even make this happen.  Most difficult getting my left leg to hover at a 90 degree angle.  This is seriously no joke. So.very.hard.

I'm still trying to figure out lengthening my body so that my back isn't so rounded. So many thought processes while doing this pose, it's quite baffling. But for now, I'm pretty happy I've progressed just this little bit.

Day 24

The compass pose or Parivrtta Surya Yantrasana has always been a challenging one for me - although it doesn't help that I don't practice it often, it doesn't matter if I have my left leg extended or folded inwards, I can never seem to achieve the balance or feel comfortable in this pose.

It is a great stretch but very awkward for me. Keep practicing.....

Tuesday, March 22, 2016

Day 22

Baby Bakasana - in my opinion is much, much harder than Bakasana itself. I didn't realize that til I tried it.  I would rather much prefer crow over the baby version.

Will definitely be practicing this one a lot more....Phew!!

Monday, March 21, 2016

Day 21

Side Plank or Vasisthasana is up for Monday.

Love any variation of planks....the key is alignment, I always strive for alignment - nothing too fancy.

Saturday, March 19, 2016

Day 19

Uttanasana or Intense forward fold is up for the day:

Happy Saturday!! Oh, Spring - you are here!! I love you so, so much!! I'm a happy gal this time of the year!

Friday, March 18, 2016

Day 18

It's the weekend, yay!!! So happy......Today is Hanumanasana or Splits.  I still have not managed to play with my leg variations but have only been able to mess around with arm positions.  I don't think I've put in too much effort in advancing this pose, but perhaps it's not really the most important thing on my mind right now....will keep practicing the variations for this pose though when I feel inclined to do so. ;)

I love the intense feeling that the splits gives you, it really works every muscle in the body. It wakes me up and I feel so alive after this stretch!

Day 17

No two poses are ever the same, ever....especially with my EKAP2. Hello.....I have not practiced you for awhile and sometimes I feel like I'm aligned and sometimes I feel like I'm too far to the left or the right, leg isn't high enough, and if leg is too high....which throws off my alignment elsewhere....some days I feel stiff, some days pretty loose....all in all, I love hand/arm balances!!  They are my favorite.

And they always challenge me like no other. I wish inversions were easy for me like arm balances are. Am still working on fusing in this pose in a gentle flow.  That alone is taking its time.

Wednesday, March 16, 2016

Day 16

Today is supposed to be forearm balance and I chose the preparatory strengthening pose of Dolphin Pose or Makarasana/Ardha Pincha Mayurasana:

I am physically exhausted today yet have so much to do, maybe a nap will help later on.

Tuesday, March 15, 2016

Day 15

Standing Marichyasana is a tough one - such a 'feel good' bind though:

And I followed along on some Dylan Werner Yoga today...oh my.....SORE.....I was looking for something a little more intense and well, I found it.....check out Dylan's youtube channel if you haven't already.  Here's a clip of one of them. Build Yoga Strength Class:

Monday, March 14, 2016

Day 14

Todays pose is a Camel Pose variation, a little bit harder than the camel pose itself, in my opinion since you're only balancing on one leg with a backbend. My right arm is not straight but oh well, it is my best attempt.

It's a new week, yay!! I love my Mondays!

Saturday, March 12, 2016

Day 12

What a gorgeous day, especially after the rain, and everything outside is super clean, brisk....beautiful...the sun is shining and it isn't as cold as I thought it would be out today.  I loved seeing every sign of spring time popping up the stores - outside.  I am at peace with happiness knowing that the time change tonight makes it even better....yay! Most people look at it as one less hour of sleep.....but I look at it as....there is more light at the end of the day...sleep? What is that? I don't sleep....I should but I really don't much.

Tiger pose or Vyaghrasana is not an easy much balancing before I can get it aligned the way I want:

That's it...running off again.

Friday, March 11, 2016

Day 11

I skipped the wheel pose today and just did my own thing....funny thing about these challenges, I never fully complete them....I think there was only one challenge where I managed every pose but that rarely happens, either for lack of interest in a specific pose or I have not advanced far enough to even contemplate.  And I'm ok with that....

The only inversion I feel comfortable with right now is with the tripod headstand.  Although there still needs to be plenty of work, I can manage to lift a portion of my body up in the air:

Even with inversions, I have to be really careful and not exceed a certain amount of time.  I'm not supposed to be doing too many inversions anyways, just every once-in-a-while.

Thursday, March 10, 2016

Day 10

Low Lunge or Anjaneyasana for Thursday!

I'm sore today - all over my body. Super sore....I've been doing yoga more than normal since the past two weeks...a combo of the challenges and then my own thing on the side.  It's all good. I hope that means I'm progressing....bruises on my legs and one on my elbow. Hope that, too, means I've pushed myself enough...not too far....but just enough. Enough to keep me grounded, happy, and energetic.

Wednesday, March 9, 2016

Day 9

My Bakasana or Crow Pose:

One day, I shall have Crane pose down, someday. But for now, I must be content...Huge word.....content....

Tuesday, March 8, 2016

Day 8

Lizard pose Or Utthan Pristhasana is up for today:

And Ardhamatsyendrasana or otherwise known as Seated Spinal Twist or Half Lord of the fish:

Sunday, March 6, 2016

Day 6

It's raining! Where did my sunshine go? Boo. It does make me happy, though, knowing that Spring is just around the corner......

I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've attempted the Bound One Legged Boat Pose, super hard.  The binding, in my opinion was harder than lifting the leg:

I still see lots of room for improvement. In time, I hope that lifted leg can go higher and straighter~

Friday, March 4, 2016

Day 4

Ooh, this was some twist, good heavens, not easy at all.....  Twisted Goddess pose is up for today:

Thursday, March 3, 2016

Day 3

Super quick - actually most of the posts will be quick since I won't be posting my Yoga Meltdown Series....I'm just doing that on my own but will post the #dreambigwithTFM challenge each day.

Up for today is Cobra Pose or Bhujangasana:

Wednesday, March 2, 2016

Day 2

Challenge pose for today is a Leaning Tree Pose or variation of Vrksasana:

I had mentioned on Instagram that this pose makes me feel like my childhood dream of being a little ballerina....different poses resemble and feel so different for each you dream? Do you daydream? Dreaming is not a bad thing......and don't let anyone tell you that you can't daydream....of course there is always an appropriate time and place to daydream - always.....

I think daydreaming is healthy as it brings our minds a vivid type of's a pure sense of joy, it makes us....well, creative! Whether or not it creates and turns into a goal that we intend to process.....dreaming is also refreshes our minds.....

In many ways, yoga has helped me fulfill some of my's still a very personal journey and solely for me.  It gives me a great sense of direction and balance for my future....

Day 1

Joining in on a new challenge today for March - the #DreamBigWithTFM Challenge.

The pose is Revolved Downward Facing Dog:

This pose is a strange one.  I've never really been quite comfortable with it.  It's an even more intense feeling than the classic Downward Dog.

And I actually have 1 more video to play's Adriene's last day - I always love her very last day, there are no words from her, just beautiful music and choreography - you just go with her flow or create your own or do a little bit of both depending on your mood....the last day videos are absolutely breathtaking in every way!

Day 30 - Find What Feels Good - 30 Days of Yoga:

And I can't wait! I'm also joining in on another 30-Day Yoga Meltdown series that is much more intense than last months. I'm going to love every minute of it....will probably only post the Instagram challenge only though.  I'm pumped for March!!
