Day 30

And bam, just like that - April is over...how did that even happen? I really enjoyed this months challenge, there were a lot of poses I've not tried yet before and it did challenge my thinking.  There were variations that I will continue to work on as well.

Final day is Mayurasana - Peacock Pose or a variation of it.

Day 27

My all time nemesis is today - Boat pose variation it was - but I didn't do the criss cross of each leg and arm...I did the more standard version of Navasana:


And I keep returning to this video by Adriene if I want an intensity filled workout - it's the first video in her Empower Class series, this one is called HEART - Phase 1.

I love that she incorporates 4 sets of jumping jacks in the routine...so fun!



Can't believe this month is almost over.....wow....

Day 26

Today is a variation in Wall Splits, we were supposed to swagger our legs back and forth on the wall, but I decided just to do a still vertical split or Urdhva Prasarita EkaPadasana:


And I practiced this pose a week ago below, a favorite Downward Dog that I like is the One Legged Downward Dog or EkaPada Adho Mukha Svanasana:

Day 25

Today's workout was from Mary's Power Yoga Vinyasa Flow for Core Arm Balances. This is more of a Level 2-3 and is another 1-hour long session.  If any other video I've followed has made me sweat, I would have to officially say this video made me sweat the most....great challenges within the scope of her flows.  I needed a total body cleanser and I indulged in some extra self-care afterwards.


I'm exhausted but feel energetic....does that even make sense? You're tired after a good flow, but you still feel good! And today's challenge pose is a Toe Stand Variation/Padangusthasana:


I'm so excited for May! The month of May has always, in the past, been especially memorable for me for so many reasons.  May has always brought me much happiness in different ways....hoping that trend continues next month!

Today the pose is Tittibhasana or Firefly pose on your fingertips, although I heard and was advised by someone that doing any pose on your fingertips is not a good thing for you down the road....I guess I am just boring that way.  So I opted for safety and went with the classic Firefly with hands pressed flat to the ground:

Today is supposed to be inverted Lotus or Padmasana, but since I am restricted by my eye doctor from doing too many inverts, I modified my pose with a variation of a Dragon Pose with Lotus legs:

Super early day today, so hard to get in an early workout, because I don't quite have the energy yet, but after a warm-up, it proved a bit easier....I went for one of Adriene's new Power Shakti Flows today:

Yesterday, I was playing around with chin stands and peacock's and any fun arm/leg balancing poses that I like.....I combined both a peacock and a chin stand together in this pose.

Today is a half crow and half firefly combination - tittibhasana and bakasana all in one....I thought firefly alone was pretty hard until I tried this one....so happy for this challenge - it truly does challenge me to no end.

Day 7

Gosh, how did my life get soooo busy? I'm sitting here wondering how hectic things can be.  I'm most thankful for the many hobbies that I seem to have, things I love to explore, learn, and do - things that, ultimately, keep me grounded for whatever reason.

Time - the relentless question of time - who has time for hobbies? Too busy...there is no time...but you have to make time for it....as I have quickly learned...an hour, a half hour, even if it's just 5 minutes of surrendering to something I love to do, it's still a whole, precious 5 minutes.

Even if it's sitting down to make a card to give to someone....it's the foundation of what makes me happy. Even if it's just learning a new pose that seems utterly impossible for me, it's still that sense of enlightenment I get.

Make time for everything you want in your life, you don't get that second chance ever...

What would I do without my hobbies? Things that provide me comfort, solace, a peace of mind....without it, I probably would not exist....

Day 5

Ustrasana or Camel Pose used to really be my nemesis pose.  I never enjoyed it, it always made me uncomfortable and I could never really 'feel' anything....but now - after a lot of practice, I'm liking it more.  I can feel the slight change it makes with more back bending practice.


It's not my go-to pose that I like as much as say - natarajasana or eight angle, but I should definitely practice it more often.

Day 2

I just want to sleep in on these beautiful, lazy Saturdays....all day, wouldn't that be nice...but my heart is happy...seems as if spring time does that to you. It makes it easier to feel that you can conquer what you need to conquer no matter what is thrown at you....you just do.....you learn to not worry too much about the future and only the immediate present.

Today is eight angle or Astravakrasana....supposedly a variation - but I just stuck with the classic 8.

Day 1

New month, refreshing change....and there were so many challenges to pick from....I went with this one because there are some poses I, either, have not tried or have difficulty with, so I thought it would be perfect for me.  Up for Day 1 is Bird of Paradise or Svarga Dvijasana:
